As one of United Way’s sub-grantee agencies, Homefirst provides direct service to youth between the ages of 16-24 who are Union County residents and currently not in school or working, and assists them with obtaining a credential, enter higher education and/or secure employment.
This is accomplished by helping these youth identify and address barriers and provide them with the necessary tools they need to achieve their career goals. Such tools include, but are not limited to: financial literacy, leadership development and entrepreneurial skills, job readiness training, paid work experience, and access to education and occupational training programs (paid for if funds are available).
The Youth Employment Pathways Program (YEPP) is an implementation of the Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant awarded to United Way of Greater Union County by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Workforce Development Board.
