Westfield United Fund to be honored as Philanthropic Champion at “An Evening of Thanks”
Since 1937, the Westfield United Fund (WUF) has been Westfield’s go-to organization for people in need in our community, which includes the surrounding towns in Union County.
Governed by a 20-member Board of Trustees, led by President Rick Malacrea and Executive Director is Deirdre Gelinne, the WUF currently supports 20 local agencies and programs. Its mission is to help people in our area who need care and social services. Westfield United Fund’s purpose is to fund quality programs provided by independent agencies approved by the WUF. We strive to identify unmet needs and to support programs and services that address the needs of individuals, families, teens, children, and seniors, including those with physical and psychological disabilities. Its goal is to be a community resource for residents in need as well as those looking for ways to give back. The trustees of the WUF make sure that the money entrusted to us by Westfield residents is put to effective use, improving the lives of thousands of people in Union County every day of the year.
