Homefirst Interfaith Housing and Family Services will host our annual Evening of Thanks on April 10, 2019, 6 PM – 9:30 PM at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains, honoring the contributions of four community philanthropist. Annette Quijano, Assemblywoman NJ Legislative District 20, introduced strong wage theft legislation to make sure workers obtain the proper wages and benefits for their hard work in the State of New Jersey. Personally she’d always ready to support her community in District 20 when they are helping the needy; donating food and water to emergency relief efforts and supports local organizations like the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless with her annual month-long summer sandwich drive. Other honorees for 2019 are:

  • Armando Guerra, NJ Governor of Lions Club International (District 16J)
  • Adrian Mapp, Mayor of Plainfield, NJ
  “Each year the Homefirst Our Evening of Thanks event recognizes and honors the people, businesses and organizations who have been extremely generous with their time, talent and treasure to enable us to offer the services we provide to nearly 2,000 children, men and women throughout Union County. It’s only with the support of our partners, funders and volunteers that we are able to make a difference in the lives of so many, by giving them a helping hand to a pathway out of poverty,” said Rev. Ron Thomas, Homefirst Board President.
