Like the millions of women that suffer through domestic violence every year, Samantha was afflicted by an abusive relationship. In search of a fresh start, Samantha reached out to the Plainfield Family Support Center for counseling and to provide a safe haven for herself and daughter. Leaving an abusive relationship is a difficult situation for anyone.
However with the resources provided by the center, Samantha was able to enroll in the STEM program. The STEM program gives the opportunity for students to explore the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, which will build valuable resume skills for her job search. Samantha also received help with budgeting techniques to better maintain her expenses.
Today Samantha aspires towards securing a full-time position and finding an apartment.
