The Winter Garden Greenhouse Project
Two years ago, youth volunteers created Homefirst’s first Community Garden in Plainfield to provide free, organic food. Later, a second larger garden was built in Scotch Plains. However, the two gardens have only been able to provide food through the summer season up to this point. Now, through her bat mitzvah project, Avital Abraham aims to help make the community gardens provide food year round by installing a greenhouse in the Scotch Plains Garden.
